Added google maps to the main menu under directions. You can now map out a area of interest from the radio feeds.

If you use winamp media player the Richmond County Sheriffs Feed will now show what channels are talking. This will only work with Winamp and the latest ITunes.

I have changed the location of the local news feeds to the News Feed Menu. This should help on speeding up the main page. I'am going to be making changes to the Archive section. I will start uploading the archives to the webhosting server soon. The archives will be available in the downloads section. This will mean that archives will be available the next day. The Archives are still going to be for members only. I have also added some software for downloads for Members only as well. I will be adding additional content soon. The Archives will be uploaded as zip files. I have changed the recording method to voice actuation. This means that the recordings start when it hears a key up of any type. This also means that the files will be split after 5 seconds of no key up which in return will make more files but it should be smaller files. I will be zipping up and uploading a whole days recording. The 1st whole day will start on July 2nd 2008.

The Columbia County Feed provides the following. Columbia County Sheriff, Fire, as well as Gold Cross EMS, Harlem PD, Grovetown DPS.

Only on 12: Fire chief speaks out on Hannan's DUI charge PDF Print E-mail

    WRDW.Com

AUGUSTA, Ga.---Richmond County's lead fire investigator is finding himself in hot water after being arrested on DUI charges.

"Well things happen. It's human nature," said Fire Chief Howard Willis. Chief Willis says this is where the real test begins...how his team reacts when things get heated.

"I want our people to know that we gonna carry forward, and I want the community to know that we gonna carry forward, and we gonna make sure they get the professional services that they deserve," said Chief Willis.

This comes as an investigation gets underway and questions swirl...was Hannan driving on company time?

"He was not driving a county vehicle. I'll tell you that, and that's it," said Chief Willis.

Even still, Hannan is on suspension with pay as the facts flood in.

"I want all of our people in the fire service to be professional about their job whether on duty or off duty. I'm not saying that he was unprofessional...people...what they do on their own time I can't control that," said Chief Willis.

"He blew a .213. The legal limit is .08," said Lt. Scott Gay with Special Operations.

That was more than enough to land a 25 year veteran fire investigator in jail.

"We hate that these things happen, but we're in law enforcement, and we treat every body the same," said Gay.

Lt. Hannan is scheduled to go before a judge on July 15, 2008.
